Page Law Firm has obtained major
victories for its clients in federal court in 2008, including
two cases in which the judges issued multiple substantive
opinions.
In a suit on behalf of client
Alabama Credit Union
seeking to enjoin The Credit Union of Alabama Federal Credit
Union from using a confusingly similar name, the Judge has
cleared the way for a trial by denying summary judgment motions
filed by the defendant. Among other rulings, the court issued
opinions, available here, addressing whether the name Alabama
Credit Union is
protectable, and whether there is a
likelihood of confusion between the names.
In a suit on behalf of client
Evanston Insurance Company against Professional Underwriters
Liability Insurance Co. seeking contribution for a settlement
paid by Evanston for an incident covered by both insurers, the
Judge granted summary judgment in favor of Evanston in two
opinions, first finding Evanston entitled to
recover money and later entering judgment for an
allocated amount.
